Johnny's Game Profile~Midway's shooter games

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile today we will talk about some of Midway's (now Neatherrealm Studios) shooter games.

Midway has done some shooter games in its history, and when it comes to some of these shooter games, it was their arcade games (some of these made it to consoles eventually) because unlike other arcade cabinets where it used a gun as a controller which is only attached by a wire and used like an actual gun, Midway's shooters used a mounted gun which is connected to the arcade cabinet. The 2 shooter games that were the most famous that Midway has done was Revolution X which came out in 1994, and Terminator 2: The Arcade Game which came out in 1991.

  • 1 Revolution X
    • 1.1 The Story
    • 1.2 The Game
  • 2 Terminator…

Johnny Watches Youtube~Lucky & Wild

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny Watches Youtube. Today we will talk about a little known arcade game called Lucky and Wild.

Lucky & Wild are 2 cops who are on the trail of crime boss Big Cigar as they try to stop his cohorts from terrorizing the city. Lucky has a sports car which he drives so they can keep up with the criminals that lead up to the boss criminal.

Lucky & Wild has one player (Lucky) drive the car while they shoot, while the other player (Wild) just shoots. This game sounds a lot like Super Chase with guns, and because there are 2 guns on this cabinet, 2 players can play. There are 6 stages altogether where you need to plow through criminals in cars and shoot them before Lucky's car takes so much damage and…

Johnny's Game Profile~American Laser Games

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today, we are going to talk about games that were once a part of full live action laser disc technology called American Laser Games.

Beginning in the late 1980s, American Laser Games was created initially for the purpose to train police officers on their judgement, as in shooting the bad guys while not shooting innocent civilians, exactly what would be created for Lethal Enforcers and its predecessor Target: Terror.

But if you think that the game might be similar to it, well you would be right. For ALGs decade run, they have made a slew of video games for the Arcade Cabinet system.

  • 1 Mad Dog McCree
    • 1.1 Mad Dog 2: The Lost Gold
  • 2 Crime Patrol
    • 2.1 Crime Patrol 2: Drug Wars
  • 3 Who Shot Jo…

JohnnyOTGS Games announcement

Hello everybody. I have a very small but special announcement to make, there's going to be a change in the Game Review pages. Instead of just going down the 5 categories (Graphics, Music, Sound/Voice, Gameplay/Controls, Replay Value) I'll be focusing on a game in one lump page, of course I'll still talk about the aspects of the games that I'll review, and in the end, I'll give it a number (from 1, the lowest, to 10, the highest).

I should be making some of these new review pages soon, so stick around, Until next time, this is JohnnyOTGS signing out.

Johnny Watches Youtube~Duke Nukem: Zero Hour

Hello everybody and welcome back to another edition of Johnny Watches Youtube. Today we're going to talk about a one time Duke Nukem game: Duke Nukem: Zero Hour.

Now, I'm not a big fan of Duke Nukem, and the reasons are that he's not a humble hero (not like Mario, Link, Megaman, or Ryu) who doesn't treat women very well and has too much self-pride. However, Zero Hour (even though I never played the game looks good on Youtube and was covered well in a few issues of Nintendo Power) it was the Nintendo 64 answer to the other Duke Nukem game for the first Playstation Time to Kill which had a similar story plot.

  • 1 Duke Nukem: Zero Hour
    • 1.1 Present-Day New York
      • 1.1.1 Items
    • 1.2 Alternate Future: Post-Apocalyptic New York
    • 1.3 Weapons
    • 1.4 Old West-1848
    • 1.5 Weapon…

Johnny Watches Youtube~Tough Guy: Fighting Titans

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny Watches Youtube. Today we're going to talk about an obscured Tournament Fighting Game from the 1990s, Tough Guy: Fighting Titans.

  • 1 Disclaimer
  • 2 Tough Guy: Fighting Titans
  • 3 The Competitors
    • 3.1 Lee
    • 3.2 King
    • 3.3 Caoli
    • 3.4 Sheana

    • 3.6 Madiesha
    • 3.7 Gerdon

    • 3.9 Chieshan
    • 3.10 Wacker/Dietrich
    • 3.11 Cula
    • 3.12 Jaw/Zhao
  • 4 The game

There is very little information about this game, so I'll try my best to fill in some holes about the game.

Nearest I can tell (and from what I studied) Tough Guy: Fighting Titans is a TFG which was released for the PC in 1994 by a Taiwanese computer company called Panda Computer Entertainment.

The story of the game begins with some kind of Italian Criminal named Cula who practices the da…

Johnny Watches YouTube~Title Fight

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny Watches YouTube. Today, I got a belated Christmas present, and that came in the form of the largely unknown arcade game called "Title Fight".

Okay, I physically don't have the game. But I *do* get to talk about it, which I've been waiting for a long time.

Title Fight was a one-time Arcade Boxing Game where it uses a very unusual gameplay control setup. Instead of an analog stick and buttons, you use 2 analog handlebars and where you push forward a handle is what punch your boxer throws. Now, that sounds a bit complicated and throwing the wrong punch could mean big trouble for you, of course pushing the handles a certain way will also make your boxer block incoming punches.

Now, the game m…

JohnnyTalk Games~Problem with Spider-Man

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of JohnnyTalk Games.

Unfortunately, this edition is going to be negative. Explaining my confusion about a popular game.

In 2018, Insomniac has released the popular Spider-Man game. There was a lot of hype even before the game released on September 7. Though, I was initially considering playing this game. What changed my mind is when I saw gameplay footage on Youtube and thought that this game was just the same as Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Woah, wait a minute Ryu. Before you go ahead and beat the ever-loving schniddles outta Spidey. Let me rant about why this is the same as Arkham Asylum.

Before I begin with this rant, I just want everybody to know that this is not about being "Pro-DC and Anti-Marvel"…

Johnny's Game Profile~King of The Monsters

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today we will talk about an obscured TFG (Tournament Fighting Game) called "King of The Monsters"

This weekend is the opening weekend of the sequel to the campy 2014 Godzilla movie. Now, I'm no fan of Japanese Monster movies, but this did remind me of the one time game for the NEO/GEO.

  • 1 King of The Monsters
    • 1.1 Geon
    • 1.2 Woo
    • 1.3 Astro Guy
    • 1.4 Beetle Mania
    • 1.5 Rocky
    • 1.6 Poison Ghost
  • 2 King of The Monsters 2: The New Thing
    • 2.1 Super Geon
    • 2.2 Cyber Woo
    • 2.3 Atomic Guy

Supposedly taking place in 1996 Japan, and 6 giants are now fighting amongst themselves for the title of King of The Monsters.

Now, it goes without saying that Geon is the game's own version of Godzilla. Geon is one of the more bala…

Johnny's Game Profile~Red Steel

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today, I'm going to talk about a little known game for the Original Wii, Red Steel.

Before the game company Ubisoft was known for the Assassin's Creed series of games, they were a struggling company. As the Original Wii launched, they released this game.

Red Steel is one of the very first game for the Original Wii and it utilized the use of the Wii Remote as you use not just modern guns but also the Katana (Japan's sword of the Samurai).

The story follows a man named Scott Monroe (that's you, the player) on a special engagement dinner with his Fiancee Miyu Sato, the daughter of former member of the Yakuza (Japan's Mafia) Isao, but the dinner goes horribly awry as Isao arrives at t…

JohnnyTalk Games~What games will be on the Nintendo 64 Classic Mini?

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of JohnnyTalk Games. Today, we are going to talk about the kind of games on a proposed Nintendo 64 Classic Mini

With the popularity of the NES and Super NES Classic Mini. It could only be a matter of time before we see a classic mini of another one of Nintendo's famous consoles: the Nintendo 64. Now, what kind of games can we expect to be on a "N64 Classic Mini", and what are the possibilities of seeing some of these games? That is what this blog will try to cover.

Now, before I get started on this, I made something I would call my own "Captain Obvious" list. The kind of list that has the N64 games that are "obvious; that they'll be on the proposed Classic Mini console. So to save time (and space o…

He began with books written by Ian Flemming (another former secret agent), he then moved onto movies, and then video games beginning with the rendition of License to Kill which was forgettable.

It wasn't until 1997 and when the movie based game GoldenEye where James Bond achieved in the video game industry not only it allowed a series of James Bond games, but also set the benchmark of multiplayer shooters.

JohnnyTalk Games~Super NES & Sega Genesis, which games were better?

Hello everybody and welcome to yet another edition of JohnnyTalk Games. Today we are going to talk about what kind of games were better on either the Super NES or the Sega Genesis.

Now, before we begin, I just want to let you guys know that the games that will be mentioned on this blog are the third party games, so none of the first party games from either console (especially those from the Super Mario or Sonic The Hedgehog franchises) will be mentioned (since it's like copmparing Apples and oranges anyway).

Since the 1990's when the Sega Genesis was introduced, there was an ongoing debate on which console was the best, either that or Nintendo's successor to the NES: The Super NES.

Technologically, the Super NES was vastly superior and the games sh…

JohnnyTalk Games~Shaquille O'Neal back in games.

You may or may not know that in the world if video games, O'Neal is infamously known for his absolute failure of a video game Shaq Fu.

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of JohnnyTalk. Now I seldomly talk about movies on my Gaming Wiki (that is what my Movies wiki is for). But a few weeks ago I went to see Ready Player One which was about a world dominated by a Virtual Reality video game system called the "OASIS".

In Columbus, Ohio in the year 2045, a young man named Wade Watts uses the VR game system (the OASIS) to get away from his otherwise bad home life (with his Aunt and cousin). The creator of the OASIS (Jimmy Halliday) has died 5 years before the events of the movie, and challenges anybody to unlock the "Easter Egg" which gives anybody who finds it Halliday's fortune (consisting of several Trillion dollars) and total control over the OASIS. Johnny's Game Profile~Power Instinct

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today I am going to talk abotu a TFG (tournament fighting game) that is a bit lesser known.

In the 1990's, TFGs were all the rage, thanks in large part to Street Fighter 2 making success in both arcades and home consoles. Of oucrse, this would lay the work for a truck load of other TFGs such as Fatal Fury and Mortal Kombat. This TFG I'm going to talk about however is a bit lesser known despit it having several sequels under it's belt: it's called Power Instinct (I said *Power* Instinct, not "Killer Instinct" mind you)

Johnny Watches Youtube~Alien Syndrome

Hello eberybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny Watches Youtube. Today I would to talk about a one time action shooter game called Alien Syndrome.

This action shooter game is where 2 people: a man named Ricky and a woman named Mary have to go to several space stations which are rigged to self destruct (due to the massive Alien Infestation) and rescue their "comrades".

Think of it as like Contra almost, because Ricky and Mary use rifles that change their weapon systems once you have a power-up. Theiur guns start out as like short range pea shooters, but they can change it into either a fireball launcher, a flame thrower, a laser gun or even a bomb launcher. Though the weapons don't increase the firepower of the gun, but more or less increas…

JohnnyWatches Youtube Special~Johnny's favorite Castlevania games

Hello everybody and welcome to another special edition of Johnny Watches Youtube.

As you all know, that Halloween is just a week away. For some, Halloween means masquerading as their favorite characters, trick or treating, eating sweet sweet candy, and carving Pumpkins into funny or scary Jack O' Lanterns.

For me, it means watching one of my personal favorite video game franchises all October long: Castlevania.

Castlevania is basically themed with Halloween (eventhough it wasn't created for that purpose) as you face, Ghosts, Monsters (such as Frankenstein and werewolves) and (of course) Vampires.

Without further ado, here is my personal favorite Castlevania games.

  • 1 Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
  • 2 Castlevania: Symphony of The Night
  • 3 Castlevania 2: Bel…

JohnnyTalk~Johnny's first look at Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of JohnnyTalk. Today, I'm going to talk about my very first look at the latest in the Bethesda's Wolfenstein franchise. It's called Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus.

Just about a month ago at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), Bethesda has released the sequel to their surprise success which is Wolfenstein: The New Order which takes the famous FPS franchise into a world controlled by Nazi Germany and it is up to "Good Ol' BJ" to stop them, and then there was a prequel: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood with BJ still fighting in World War 2 where the Nazis have gained the advantage. This is the sequel to The New Order.

JohnnyTalk~Super NES games that should be on the Super NES Classic Mini

Hello every body and welcome to another edition of "JohnnyTalk". Now, you already know that Nintendo has recently announced that it will release a small version of the Super NES (like they did with the NES Classic Mini last year), and with it it'll have 21 pre-recorded games such as Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past, Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Contry, Contra 3: The Alien Wars, Super Castlevania 4 and Super Mario RPG. But, I think that they let out a slew of other great games for the Super NES which would make fins editions to the Classic Mini, here are the games that *I* think should in the Super NES Classic Mini.

  • 1 The Legend of The Mystical Ninja
  • 2 U.N. Squardon
  • 3 Skyblazer
  • 4 Megaman 7
  • 5 NBA Jam
  • 6 Super Adventure Island
  • 7 Actra…

JohnnyTalk~What I do and don't like about Breath of The Wild

Hello everybody and this is another edition of JohnnyTalk. You may have already know about the new Legend of Zelda game for the Nintendo Switch: Breath of The Wild which is taking the gaming world by storm as of late, loved by gamers old and new and was even given the most perfect scores from gaming critic networks. But there is one individual that isn't enjoying the greatness of this name, and it is ironically me (yes, I JohnnyOTGS). Now, I have personally voiced my distaste for the game since it was announced, I have viewed all of the screenshots and even the gameplay videos (that fun stuff) and in some cases when I voiced my opinion on this game I got into a bit of trouble on some gaming groups on Facebook (even getting kicked out of one, a…

Johnny's Game Profile~Lethal Enforcers

Back in the early 1990's with TFGs such as Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat making their point in the arcade room, so were light gun games. Before we heard of such games like Time Crisis or House of The Dead, there was this game: Lethal Enforcers.

Lethal Enforcers takes place in modern day Chicago where police officer named Don Marshal (who looks like Miami Vice star Don Johnson) got word that the criminal activity suddenly explosive, now he and his partner must stop them at all costs.

Like Mortal Kombat, Lethal Enforcers has digitized graphics, meaning that the backgrounds and the character sprites are actual places and people digitized into the game, and unlike in previous arcade shooters, there are also female enemies to shoot as well as male enemi…

Johnny's Game Profile~Knight Rider

"Knight Rider: A shadowy flight into a dangerous world of a man who does not exsist. Michael Knight: A young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who opperate above the law."

If you're one of those older Generation X'ers who watched the television show, then you will agree that it had one of the kick-butt intros of any TV Show of it's time, even those who were kids back in the 1980's would remember this show.

So of course, Knight Rider was going to have a video game (as video games were also growing in popularity around the same time), though I personally didn't know a game based on the show actually existed. Until I read about it in a video game book (not Nintendo Powe…

Johnny's Game Profile~Yie-Ar Kung Fu

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today I'm going to talk about a forgotten Tournament Fighting Game (TFG) which had a lot of variety for the time of video games: Yie Ar Kung Fu (Meaning 1-2 Kung Fu in Chinese)

Before the gaming world has heard of Tournament Fighting Games such as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat or even The King of Fighters there were very little in the way in TFGs. Of course there's Karate Champion where 2 players can play the 2 fighters in the game. But it is too generic compared to this game. Eventhough it is just a one player game, but it had much more variety of characters and even more dazzling graphics in comparison to Karate Champion.

  • 1 The Characters
    • 1.1 Oolong
    • 1.2 Buchu
    • 1.3 Star
    • 1.4 Nuncha…

JohnnyTalk Special~Johnny's top 5 Games of 2016

Hello everybody and Happy New year to you all. This is a special edition of JohnnyTalk as I'll show you my own top 5 games of 2016. I played some really good games this year, and it's going to be quite difficult to pick the right ones. Okay, let's get started.

  • 1 5. The King of Fighters 14
  • 2 4. Mighty No. 9
  • 3 3. Doom
  • 4 2. Samurai Warriors 4
  • 5 Honorable Mentions
    • 5.1 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan
    • 5.2 Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks
    • 5.3 Batman: Arkham Knight
  • 6 1. MLB The Show 16

There wasn't a large selection of Tournament Fighting Games (TFG) this year. But the best this year has to go to The King of Fighters 14.

One of the reasons why is that it sticks to what the game itself is famous for: a series of SNK characters from other SNK TFGs such as …

Johnny's Game Profile~War Gods

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of Johnny's Game Profile. Today, I'm going to talk about a game that has been panned by gamers and critics alike. It is called War Gods.

Supposedly a spiritual successor to Mortal Kombat, War Gods' origins are in the billions of years where some alien spaceship crashes into the Newly Created Earth and with it scattered it's cargo full of a strange elemtn known simply as Ore. Humans throughout history have used the Ore to either warship, to find power, or to perfect their own science. Nevertheless, 9 humans and 1 statue are now locked in conflict for another piece of Ore to prove thier status as a "War God" .

  • 1 Warhead
  • 2 Kabuki Jo
  • 3 Maximus
  • 4 Anubis
  • 5 Vallah
  • 6 Ahau Kin
  • 7 Cy-5
  • 8 Tak

Right now, thew roster looks very interesting since it already has some familiar faces coming back as well as some brand new faces to go along with those big names. Johnny Watches Youtube~Gun.Smoke

Hello again, and welcome to another edition of Johnny Watches Yotube. Today, we are going to talk about some of the games taken place in the Old West. This is a classic, it's called Gun.Smoke

Taken place in the mid 19th century during the western gold rush, a band of theives known as the Wingates have harassed the citizens of a town called Hicksville. Only one man can stop them, a man named Billy Bob.

Not to be confused with the western radio show and TV show of the same name. This is based on the arcade where it's a forward scrolling rail shooter where you shoot ad defeat a series of enemies as you face a boss in each stage, there are 6 stages in all. You move, and the A and B buttons control on which direction you shoot. A is left, B is rig…

Hello everybody and welcome to another edition of JohnnyTalk. Today I'm going to talk about some of the things that some gamers from the first few generations of video games from the early and mid 1980's and 1990's.

It has been nearly 35 years since video games came into the world, despite some.......bumps in the road, it has become a booming industry ever since. But, 35 years in the video gaming world seems like a half a century since much has changed, and almost to the point where gamers today may not understand the concepts and/or some of the events of gaming that happened in the past. Here are some of the things that we know in the past tat today's gamers may not understand due to the rising of new gaming trends.

JohnnyTalk~Video Game franchises existing in the same world.

Hello everybody and welcome to yet another edition of JohnnyTalk. Today, I would like to talk about video games that (chronologically) exist in the same world. There are different game series that exist in the same world, either it's because the games are made by the same developers or owned by the same company. Because this is about stand alone game series, do not expect crossover games such as The King of FightersSuper Smash Bros. or any of the Street Fighter VS. games.

  • 1 Many Megaman Series
  • 2 Street Fighter/Final Fight
  • 3 Wolfenstein/Doom
  • 4 Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting

One of Capcom's most famed series actually take place in the same robotic world. Though, each of the game series takes place at least a century apart from each other and they don't ph…
