Created by Shu Takumi, the Ace Attorney games became a huge hit overseas as it did in Japan. A game where you are a defense attorney who must do everything to prove your client's innocence.

- Shu Takumi originally wanted the game to be a detective game where the player finds evidence to find the real perpetrator of the crime. He then wanted to change it to be a Lawyer game where the real criminal would reveal himself in court.
- In Japan, the game is titled "Gyakuten Saiban" (Turnabout Trial) and almost every episode (except for a few episodes) has the word, "Turnabout" in it.
- In later installments of the Ace Attorney games, they make a lot of references to Grape Juice as Phoenix Wright by Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney develops a liking for the drink and even other characters would drink it too. It had been speculated by fans that this was censorship when the game was localized due to an attempt to make the game more child-friendly as many fans believed it was grape wine in Japan. But it turned out that even in the Japanese versions of the games, it's called Grape Juice. It was then confirmed that the reason why Phoenix and other characters love Grape Juice is because it's the favorite drink of Shu Takumi.
